On Saturday, September 9th, the Community School Corporation of Southern Hancock County is hosting the fifth annual Run, Walk, Roll for Unity.

The cost of the event is $5 for students in grades K-12 and $10 for any adult who chooses to participate. Children under school age will be allowed admission free unless they choose to buy a t-shirt.

T-shirts for the event can be picked up the morning of the event.

Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 8:30 a.m.

All participants of the event will first gather at New Palestine High School. Participants can choose to participate in the 1-mile event around the campus of NPHS or the 4.5-mile event starting at Doe Creek Middle School and ending at NPHS.

Boarding of the buses to DCMS will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Those who choose to participate in the 4.5-mile event will take a bus from NPHS to DCMS and then walk, run or roll back to the high school.

Both events will begin at 9 a.m.

After the event, entertainment, information about bully prevention, and refreshments will be available at NPHS starting at 9:30 a.m.

Those who indicated in their registration for the event to walk in the Lion’s Club Parade to promote unity in the New Palestine community should gather at the Southern Hancock School’s Corporation Office after the event.
