For AP US history students needing help after school, APUSH teacher Shelby Livengood holds meeting after school on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

“A lot of APUSH students were discouraged with the level of rigor in the class and the skills necessary to be successful, and so I decided to start these study sessions to reinforcement those skills and give students the extra time to practice,” Livengood said.

The group uses the time to work on focus questions and go over lecture notes to analyze them more in depth.

“It’s pretty much just an open discussion on the topics we’ve covered in the last couple of weeks,” Livengood said.

Livengood has already seen improvement from students.

“Almost all student who have taken part in these study sessions have seen an improvement in their scores,” Livengood said.
