New Palestine High School junior Alex Agag, in a nationwide competition, was voted to the be the face of the US Finals, a competitive cheer and dance competition.

“The US finals travels around the US and they were looking for a new face for the brand. My coach told me to try out and I made top 10 and ended up winning,” Agag said.

Being the face of the organization means she’ll be on everything that advertises the competition.

“With winning this, I have already received free merchandise, done photoshoots, had a spread in a magazine, and a video done for me through Varsity TV,” Agag said.

Agag took a trip to Atlanta, Georgia to a convention center to take photos in front of the center and in front of a green screen.

Being chosen as the model was a huge honor for Agag.

“I have the opportunity to become a role model for younger cheerleaders out there. I want to be someone that a little girl can aspire to be, because when I was little, I always looked up to the older cheerleaders,” Agag said.

Agag has been cheering for almost 11 years – it has been a very big part of her life.

“I cheer on a team called Ice Golden Girls. We are a small senior five team,” Agag said.

She has been the face for the US Finals since March 2017.
