Recently, the 2018 Dragons won their sectional basketball game and advanced to the regional game.

This amazing group of girls won the sectional game for New Palestine High School for the first time in 14 years.

The regional game was held on February 10, at Decatur Central High School against the Pike Red Devils.

Sophomore Michaela Jones went into the game knowing her opponent was a force to be reckoned with.

“I know that the players on the Pike team are incredibly wonderful. But for this reason, we knew we had to play harder than we’ve ever played before,” Jones said.

The Pike girls basketball team is the state’s top-ranked girls basketball team.

After a long game of back-and-forth, the Dragons fell short. Ending the game with a final score of 42-34, the New Palestine Dragons pushed the Red Devils to the wire through the whole game.

“We might not have been able to pull through this year, but I have a feeling that by next year we’ll be bringing home the regional title,” junior Tatum Biddle said.

Although they could not bring home a win, the girls were still very impressed with how well they held out against the top-ranked team in the whole state of Indiana.

“We might not have been able to pull through this year, but I have a feeling that by next year we’ll be bringing home the regional title,” junior Tatum Biddle said.
